I agree that seeing the vet soon would be a good idea. If there's something in there, you'd want to get it out relatively quickly -- obviously to make Gotti more comfortable, but also because it wouldn't take long for an infection to really take hold.
On the other hand, I suppose you could try to flush the eye with warm water (I don't know if you can mix anything like saline in it or not). That wouldn't work with our dog ---- she would never sit still for us to make any progress. We'd have to go to the vet. But if Gotti is a calm, cooperative dog, maybe you could try that to see if it helps, then see how it is tomorrow?
Murphy's Law -- these things happen whenever it's least convenient, don't they?
