Pink spot on JRTs muzzle

    Pink spot on JRTs muzzle

I noticed a pink spot on my Jack Russell's muzzle about a month ago and at first I thought it was a graze or maybe a bite mark from one of my other dogs. (They do fall out with each other from time to time).  Anyway, as I say, it's been about a month now and the spot is still there. It doesn't appear to be bothering Jack but I'm wondering if I should get it looked at. Has anyone seen anything similar?

My Lacey developed one similar, on the nose right by the corner of her eye.  At first she rubbed it alot but now she seems to ignore it.  She is older.  How old is your dog?  That is one thing to think about.

I'd just keep an eye on it, and ask about it next vet visit, rather than go in specifically for this.  That is just based on my Lacey's which looks the same.  I forget the name the vet gave me, sorry.  But it just stays as is, doesn't get worse, doesn't improve.

Looks like it could be a sebaceous cyst. I'd just keep an eye on it and make sure it doesn't change..get any bigger or start to look infected. Then as Sandie has said, have your vet check it when you go in for a routine check up. However, if your routine check up is months away, for peace of mind you might want to have it checked out now.

Thanks for your prompt replies. Jack is 27 months old, his next vet appointment is in February so I'll get it looked at then.
