    Dalmation - oh, that hair!

Ok, so my husband and I adopted a rescue Dalmation / Whippit cross named Maiya. She has very short hair w/ no undercoat.

    I have 2 questions:
First,  she and my other dog, Kenya were spayed about the same time several months ago and when they were spayed, their bellies were shaved. Kenya's fur has fully grown back but Maiya's fur has not. Is this common? does their hair grow in so much more slowly than other breeds? I just want to make sure nothings wrong with her.
Second, what is the best way to groom her? Her hair sticks in everything. The thing that seams to work the best for brushing her is a rubber brush by Kong. Nothing else can get a grip on that hair. Anyony have any other suggestions?

Oh they are very cute!  I use a hound mitt and a grooming stone (bott block at the horse store, just round the edges) for my basenjis.

Your dogs are wonderful! Great photos!

I wouldn't worry to much about the hair. Gracie has very short hair with no undercoat and it seemed like it took forever for her hair to grow back after she was spayed. I use the Zoom Groom (rubber kong brush) to brush Gracie. It is the only thing I've found that really works on getting the loose hair out.
