Hi everyone, I am new to this site and would love some feed back .. My baby girl (cuddles) was diagnosed with ITP last week and is very sick. She has had two blood transfusions and a lot of tests done, As of yesterday her blood count is 27 and platelets 27,000. She has a large blot clot in her bladder and has been peeing blood for a three days now. She is on 5 different meds. I am highly stressed and could use some moral support if nothing else.

Up date on cuddles-First vet pretty much gave up oh her. So after talking to Callie(Thank you) we have taken her to OSU vet school. Her blood count dropped to 17 and she is continually peeing blood. They were getting her ready for another blood transfusion, I pray we are doing the right thing and not just making her suffer because we need her to be with us.

ITP as in Immune-mediated Thrombocytopenia? (usually I see IMT so I may be missing what ITP is) or Anemia as well.

Her vets were using some different terminolgy -- she actually has Evan's (both IMHA and IMT) but she took her to Ohio State Vet School tonight.

My thots and prayers are with them. this is difficult. Really sweet folks who really love their dog.

Another update-blood transfusion went good platelets count up to about 60,000. Red blood count up. she is feeling better. They want to run a lot more test and bring in opt specialist for her eyes to see if infection in them started this? I had to call them back and let them know that we are tapped out of funds past the amount they quoted last night. Does any one know of any places that help dog owners with vet bills when the owner is done everything possible. Cards are maxed from previous vets she saw before them. Thank you. I just have to say I feel helpless and pray for every pet and pet owned that they never have to go thru this.
