    PH6

A lot of people on this forum years ago were involved with this drug, lost their dogs to it...many got sick but lived, some still have seizures since that time.  It was taken off the market and its been back now for a couple of years.   Don't know what you guys give to your dog for HW, I use Interceptor for Gibby..but you know.....I really just don't like any of it.

Last year Banfield Pet Hospitals started using it and one very nice doctor that I like a lot told me there were being cautious and just using it on the big dogs to see how it goes. EEKS, not a good thing to say to me, I have a Great Dane.  Of course I got mad and said " well I know ONE BIG  DOG YOU WILL NEVER USE IT ON!"

I came across this on FB this morning, and wanted to share it with you guys..its another vets opinion of the drug!

    A vet's view on "Proheart 6"..... interesting: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ZUcQYzV148

Many of us felt our dogs were used as "lab rats" the first time it was out.  It appears maybe big dogs are being used as lab rats again.

Sandra.. I am not sure because I don't know what any of the other clinics are doing, but I have a feeling that it is just this clinic that was giving the PH6 only to big dogs at first.  And since that was last year when they started selling it again, I imagine they are now giving it to all sizes. But I haven't been around to ask. I do know that in my 4 yr experience of doing follow-up phone calls after visits which included vaccines, smaller dogs seemed to have the most problems with adverse reactions.  I suppose that was their reason for "trying it out" on large dogs first.

Again...that is my guess and not something that they said.
