hmmm -- dang, Hon I am SO sorry. I fear you've probably nailed it. And your assessment of her personality is likely on target as well. You have my prayers and good thots, as always.
Hey, hopefully I'm way off, but what I see and haven't said out loud yet is (and I'm not trying to play vet... not even on TV ;)) maybe systemic lupus, maybe IMHA now as secondary to discoid (the nose lesions are screaming possible discoid lupus, I've seen it before and vet said we'd test for it next) brought on maybe even by the strong antibiotics since one autoimmune goes hand in hand with developing another. Maybe something else hideous.... she seems to have discomfort in wearing a harness and swallowing as well, vet noticed lesions on the inside roof of her mouth last time. maybe, maybe, maybe... i'll find out soon enough :( need the bloodwork.
Love to be wrong one of these times... I want to go in and them to tell me, "My god Karen, you are all worked up in a tizzy for nothing, she has a little doggie bug that can be easily treated with 'xyz'".
She goes off her food very easy, so she'd be impossible to work with if it's something bad... she makes herself sicker by not eatting and hates being syringe fed so it's not an option to treat something bad in my mind, just how to keep her comfortable if it were to come to that. Also, the other female dogs have been getting after her physically more... they sense something and are taking advantage trying to step up a bit in the pack order.
