    Oh Goose

Today was Goose's recheck for her UTI. Her peeing frequency is still frequent, but less excessive than before, so I assumed the issue was resolved or mostly so.  Nope, still lots of white blood cells and now a tiny bit of blood as well as some crystals.  Good times.

So, urine sample off to the lab (they were just going to extend her antibiotics, but I suggested a send out culture so that we can just wait a few days and get her on the best antibiotic to hopefully resolve the issue).  At least she doesn't seem uncomfortable, but good heavens.

I'm sure she'll be pleased to get pills in cheese for a few extra weeks..she thinks that's just awesome :)

Poor Goose! I hope she gets over this soon! Frisby says she loves her pills served in cheese, too!

Good call to send it out for the culture & sensitivity because **SOMETIMES** you just don't know what you're treating.  You get something weirdo in there like pseudomonas (and yeah, Billy had that one -- WEIRD) and you just have to use a different drug.

And continuing the old one so there's no resistance is a darned good idea.  Sometimes it may simply be keeping it from exploding !!

Take care!!  Hope it all works better!

    Feel better, Goose !

Culture is still out, of course, but the preliminary U/A part came back. Trace blood, which we knew. No bacteria. White blood cells, which we also knew.  And, crystalsConfused

She's a puppy, so cannot have the gross prescription food they'd normally give. So, she's to get unlimited water, her kibble soaked, canned food and then we'll also see what antibiotic to put her on in a few days.

We're going to do a blood sample just to make sure there's no underlying issue, which I don't anticipate.

    Silly little Goose

I hope that all goes well for the little girl! Jewel had mega issues, with her bladder parts, earlier this year. Switching to soaked food (honest kitchen and fresh mix) and using purified water worked great, after literal months of one gross food to another, trying to stabilize her. Hope it's as good for the silly Goose:)

Willow used to get TONS of these problems when I first got her.

She never ate the prescription food for this problem.  But, once the culture is back you might want to ask the vet if a longer course of whatever drug they choose would be a good idea.I'm not sure if they could do that with a dog this young.   But, Willow took an extended course and it really helped it to never come back-that and having the right antibiotic.

Her culture came back as no bacteria. Odd with the white blood cells. Confused

So, they put her on another course of the same antibiotic while we see if the lower calcium food helps her other issues
