Cracking joints

    Cracking joints

Yep.. Maze again.. Lol.  Her joints have been cracking since she was 2 (she's 4 now) And I'm thinking of putting her on something. She was getting FirstMate Maintenance and that helped her joints but I'm in the process of switching her to dehydrated raw.

She has been to the vet, there are no underlying health problems related to her joints. So I'm wondering what can I give her to help stop the cracking. She sounds like me when I get up!! All pops and cracks. Lol. Her ankles crack when she walks!  It doesn't cause her pain or inhibit her activity at all. She just sounds old....

a lot of folks do glucosamine/chondroitin on young dogs with potential joint issues.  I like Knox NutraJoint but I don't think you can get it in Canada.  But you can accomplish the same thing with plain gelatin and a bit of calcium.  See if you have a source for plain gelatin (like Jello wtihout sugar or flavoring).

Can I get plain gelatin in a grocery store? And the calcium, just basic calcium in a tablet?

I dunno -- that's what YOU have to find out.  And calcium can even be something like ground eggshell.

There are several good joint products here in Canada. The most popular and trusted seem to be Sasha's Blend and Dasuquin.

In a health store you will pay about $18 - $20 for a bottle of mlk thistle capsules.  In total that might have about 2 oz of milk thistle in it.   C4090-451 exam - testking.co.uk

(usually more like 1 1/2 oz).  Most of your weight is the capsules themselves.
