    FURminator

Just wanted to write up a quicky review on the FURminator. We LOVE this tool here and I highly recommend it for anyone with a Lab. It gets out the dead, grey undercoat- and you wouldn't believe how much comes out! He enjoys getting a brush with the FURminator, too. 5/5 stars from us! Yes

Buddy loves his Furminator!  I was amazed as to how much more fur is removed with that tool as opposed to a rake.  Great tool!

I didn't like the furminator on my dogs. I originally got it for my husky when she was alive, but all it did was cut her top coat all up. I tried it on my aussies and wasn't thrilled with that either. So, I ended up returning it. For undercoat de-shedding I now use an Oster rake and it works wonders without pulling out too much of the top coat.

I will say I didn't like it on my Cockers when I let their coat grow out, either. I guess it works best for breeds w/ short fur and a dense undercoat.

I think thats right.  I don't use it on Heidi because I fear cutting her top coat.  I can use it on Bruder....but what works best for him is a rake.  But, that Furminator works wonders with Buddy's coat.

love the furminator, use it on all my animals, dogs, cats, even the donkeys!!

so jealous they came out with a new one that spits the hair out off of the blade!! that would be soooo helpful!!

I have a furminator, Love it! Use it on all four cats and Lex. Works great!

We love it too!  It honestly scared the crap out of me seeing how much hair my kitty and pooches needed to get rid of!  It's just like on those commercials!  After the two dogs and cat are done...I have half a garbage can of hair!

What's the difference between the de-shedding shampoo and solution? Do I use the solution after the shampoo? I'm thinking about buying the furminator products since his shampoo bottle ran out. I was reading the FAQs page onthe furminator site and it lists the siberian husky as one of the recommmended breeds but a couple of you guys are saying that it might damage the topcoat?

The furminator worked on Toots, but it damaged her top coat. So now I use my zoom groom at home and she goes to the groomer monthly to remove her undercoat. The zoom groom is amazing though.

Do you mean the actual brush or the shampoo? I have a zoom groom but it doesnt work very well on Tyson.

Best Shot Ultra Plenish conditioner is MUCH better for reducing undercoat, IMO, than Furminator shampoos.

I would not use the tool on a Husky, on a regular basis. It will break/cut the guard hairs, and you'll end up with a rough, broken looking coat.

I like the Furminator on Erik. Seems to do a good job. I use it a little bit on Kivi's undercoat when it's so thick down there that it's easier on his skin to use the Furminator than try to get it out with the T brush. I haven't found it cuts his top coat, but then, I tend to part it to get to the undercoat because otherwise the blades don't reach!

I have a furminator and use it about once a week on Greta and Lexie... I've noticed if I use it too often, it makes their top coat appear maybe broken? But it works great other than that... removes lots of hair.

I also use it on the horses during shedding season.

Just the conditioner? Or do you mean the shampoo as well used together
