    I am a bad mom

I think Luger has a UTI. That is why I think he has been snapping at me all of a sudden when I pick him up. He was doing so well with potty training. Yesterday he just starts peeing in the house and when he is done it still drips out. I'll catch him peeing and I'll say "not here" pick him up and take him out but the whole time he's dripping. Not full out peeing but dripping. And he's drinking water like crazy.

So off to the vet tomorrow. Wish it had hit me sooner that he could have a possible UTI. Vet is closed now.

Any advice on how to help the poor guy until tomorrow?

T-Bone had a UTI when he was a little guy. The vet said it's so common in pups just brought home, they squat down in the grass, aren't exactly great at cleaning themselves yet, are usually switched to a new food, etc. Poor Luger sounds the exact same way my pup did when he had one.

I bet Callie will know something to help relieve his pain right now. I can't suggest anything but wanted to send my love to Luger :(

Sounds like a UTI in the lower urinary tract is the most likely cause.  The worrisome sign would be if he stops urinating - then, I would call the emergency vet.  Otherwise, it's probably safe to add a half teaspoon of apple cider vinegar to his food once per day, and continue to offer water free choice, since both those things aid the body to clear bacteria.  You can also see if he'll lap a little cranberry or orange juice out of a spoon.

You're not a bad mom.  I did wonder about that snapping and thought it very strange for such a young pup, from what I assume are good tempered parent dogs.  Hindsight is always 20-20, don't beat yourself up over it.  Hope if he has a UTI, it's cleared up soon.

Good luck at the vet.  Just make sure you get a FULL urinalysis done.  Check for crystals that way.

Cranberry extracts are also great options to help treat/prevent infections....or you could even ask the vet about D-mannose.
