    Favorite detangling conditioners?

I have a Cocker Spaniel and her coat matts so rapidly I can't stay ahead of it. I haven't found a product that is really helpful for detangling and dematting yet but I'm looking for something I can spray on between shampoos or before shampooing to help me ease matts out (if or when possible). Does anyone have a favorite product for doing this? Thanks.

I'm not sure how it would work on a coat like your dogs.  But, my two favorites are Miracle Coat and Nova Pearls.  Especially, the Nova Pearls, it's really nice.

I have three cockers I keep in full coat.  I've tried a variety of shampoos/conditions and my current favs are #1All Systems and Ikaria.  I also use Stazko anti-static spray prior to drying and brushing them out.

My favorite is glo-coat, and surprisingly, Johnson and Johnson no more tangles detangling spray. Sounds crazy, but it works amazingly well on my groom dogs that are matted but not to the skin.

I used to swear by Tomlyn Detangling/conditioning spray, but I can't find it anywhere.

I think I have L'Oreal Kids or Johnson& Johnson for my Cavalier.

Thanks all. I would love to keep her in full coat because she's a sable and trimming away the coat diminishes her rich color and makes it much more dull. However, I think I will have to give up and take her back to a puppy coat. I just really wanted to have an idea what products really work so that I can keep the coat in better condition for the future...or possibly salvage it now. I appreciate the input.

I LOVE "The Stuff". It's a detangler and works wonders, even on mats. I also liked the way it smelled. A little of it goes a very long way, and it's relatively cheap to begin with. I am not sure if dog.com carries it, but I know I've found it on amazon.

I have a few favorites. Cowboy Magic Detangle and Shine is great stuff! The Stuff is great also, watch tho, if it gets on the floor, you'll slip and slide. Infusium 23 leave in condition spray (people stuff). Works nicely on my bichons. A clean coat is also more easily brushed through/detangled. If you have a forced air dryer (h/v dryer) that will speed up drying time. I wash my guys once a week or bi-weekly depending on how much time I have.

I like Cowboy Magic and I also really like Paul Mitchell's "The Condition" - I rub it between my hands and use it on my Standard Poodles.  Smells great and I never get matts - even though they have long coats and run around in a fenced in area of the woods.  It is also a great hand conditioner, so I get the benefit too!

I bought the Isle of Dogs No. 63 Detangle Conditioning Mist and I like it
