    Dog pees in his sleep!

We have a 14 year old Beagle who never has accidents in the house while he's awake. But on occasion will lose all control of his bladder when he's asleep. It's pretty messy. Any ideas? He also drinks a TON of water but blood work came back normal??

    Urinary tract infection!!!

Drinking often is the only sign you'll get.  But the urine may be too dilute for the vet to see "positive" infection sign so just ask him for an antibiotic to TRY and see if it resolves the problem.

Poor little fellow.  I really hope you find out what's wrong.

One of my dogs would lose a full bladder at least 5 nights per week.  I got him at two and a half.  At about 3 he began to leak a bit and then he would lose a full bladder at least 5 nights per week.

For a couple of years, no vet could help us out, but eventually a new vet suggested that we try a pill (half per day) that was used for geriatric patients.  As predicted, within three days we never had a problem again.  He lived to be 8.  Maybe mention it to your vet if he or she can't determine the problem.  This is years ago and I can't remember the name of it, but a prescription was required.
