    sutures

My black 4 year old lab got sutures to close a cut (approx.3-4";) which runs down the back side of her right leg (starts above her wrist -down to just above her pastern). The sutures have opened up twice(right where the wrist bends). What do I do now? More sutres? How is this ever going to heal  or stay closed? She is on anti-biotics, is wearing a cone and is going hardly any activity..

You might ask the vet about some sort of support that will limit her mobility?  Range of motion of that part of the leg perhaps?

It may need to stay covered.  Are they actual stitches or staples?

I would have thought skin glue might work well in a place like that.

If it has already opened twice, I'd let it heal by second intention.  Granulex is a good product to apply topically to help it close a little quicker.  If you end up getting it sutured again, the wound needs to be debrided, the edges should be trimmed, & then it can be resutured.
