I'm sure that he knows exactly who we use!  Our vet has called him, repeatedly for advice!

Think about that -- how COOL is that?  That I'm in Floooooor-daa, and you're in Tex-zuz and OUR VETS know each other??  I talk to MY vet about a dog a friend of mine on a mesageboard has and he's "consulted" on THAT dog?

How much smaller CAN the world get??

    All very cool stuff! :-)

    Dear Callie

Just wanted to follow up here and let you know that I'm very thankful to have found out about the TCVM from you. We went that route with the panting/pacing issue, and it now seems to have resolved, mainly with use of herb formula, enzyme addition and couple of acupuncture sessions.

Our vets are not exactly working together yet, but it's working out ok. I keep them both posted on everything that goes on. I don't know if our 'main vet' (God bless his soul we love him so much and he's so great) is convinced of the benefits yet, but I think possibly he's considering the fact that it might in fact be working. Though I understand that the results could have been from long term effect of the diet changes we did, or anything else under the sun, but the improvement is pretty much aligned with start of the TCVM.

That's not to say there are no problems, Jasmine has now injured her groin muscle ... Crying

We are dealing with that by combination of acupuncture, aqua pressure, low level cold laser and chiropractic care. It seems to be working very well. Jasmine now has her 'main vet', her TCVM vet, her nutritionist and her chiropractor Wink

That said, her 'main vet' is the only one who got the latest diagnosis correctly right off the bat. Did I say we love him? ;-)

We love our TCVM vet and our chiropractor too, but they are just runners up ;-)

Anyway, thought I'd drop you a line, that you might want to know that the TCVM seems to be working out for Jasmine.

When you talk about them to each other be sure to be complimentary.  If you get any testing or bloodwork done be sure to get a copy to ALL vets.  Periodically make sure they each know what ALL stuff the dog is on.  Do your best to describe the herbs to the regular vet and check out any new additions with the holistic vet to make sure you don't have things conflicting and then get back to the other vet about it

It makes more work for you and I but a better quality of vet care in the end.

I'm really glad it's helping.  PM me and let me know who you're going to?  I've met several of those vets when they've been down here at the Chi Institute.

Oh yeah, we do love them all, though we do love our main vet the most. I explained to the TCVM vet exactly why we're coming there--that we love our vet, but feel that the medical science is limited and are looking for alternative approaches. He was cool with that. They do know each other, though I'm not sure how well. Our main vet and the chiropractor are fairly close friends.

We have a precise information system, everybody gets info and updates on everything. I spent quite a lot of time with information management, but I know that good decisions cannot be made without good information. So I think they all get more information than they bargained for ;-) When we took Jasmine to the emergency we brought 90 pages of medical records Big Smile Except they didn't really bother reading them Huh?

Fortunately presently Jasmine actually isn't on many meds at all. She's on Gabapentin for pain management and ThyroTab for the hypothyroid. Everything else are supplements. But everybody is getting detailed lists of her diet ingredients, meds and supplements including schedule and doses. I guess I am an information freak :-) It all started long time ago when Jasmine was having bad poops, but I realized that a week later we know she had bad poops, but don't remember how bad, how many etc. So started making charts.

Also learned at my previous job that it is impossible to make a good decision with incomplete information. I actually feel sorry for the poor vets, how much stuff they have to go through ;-) Particularly her main vet. He has this web based information/messaging system - I love it, I can access any info, labs and past conversations I need. He spends a lot of his time talking with me about things. Actually we did a joke on him -- I wanted to reward him for all his extra time, and I know he likes watching House (I also like watching House). So we bought him complete seasons 1-4. But I figured it would be more fun to shock him a bit first. So I packaged it in a binder, so it would look like some information stuff. I asked my hubby to pull it out of the bag so he couldn't see what it really is, and tell him that I'm sending some 'more stuff I want him to look at". The shock on his face was priceless Big Smile Then he caught a glance of the side, and noticed that it doesn't really look like paperwork. So he got curious as to what it is. When he found out he was rather touched. Anyway, not relevant, but it was funny, because he thought I want him to read an entire binder of info Smile Though all together it probably adds up to that much anyway.

Jerry [my hubby] is making fun of him, because on his website he has a little introduction video in which he says, that they encourage the public to be as involved in their pets information management as they wish -- so it's all his fault Big Smile He didn't change the video yet, I guess he figures that the risk of running into another me is minimal Big Smile

Yeah, are WE ever glad it's helping too. I don't think it needs to be 'a secret' where we go when we are happy. Our main vet recommended him and when I called the Chi Institute as you advised, she also recommended him. It's Dr. Butler at Guelph Animal Hospital. Do you know him too?

No, Dr. Butler isn't one of the ones I know ... but getting the recommendation straight from Barbara at the Chi Institute is the way to go.

Good luck!!  Discussions like this are good because altho you and I may be "on the same page" (and we are) about how to keep the vets in the loop I think it's good for others to see this kind of "information management" is a GOOD thing and can really help.
