Asymptomatic Lyme Disease?

How much does your dog weight and how many milligrams are the pills?  It's been my experience that many vets prescribe to small a dosage for too short a period.  For example, 6 or 8 weeks of treatment instead of just 4 weeks.

Also, if you look thru the info in the links posted earlier you'll find that there are medications that you can add that will calm her upstet stomach.  I forget what it is called but maybe someone else knows?

Toka is 54 lbs, pills are 100 mg.  I found at least two web sites that agreed with her treatment amount.  And many did say it is often treated for too short a time and with too light of a dosage.

From what I understand there is another medication, but it isn't as effective?  At this point it's working, so hasn't been a big problem.

That is a high enough dosage.  I would consider treating for 6-8 weeks though.

Be careful giving the yogurt with the doxy because food high in calcium shouldn't be given with it.  A small amount is ok.  Pepcid can also be given (I think an hour?) before the doxy to help with upset.  Yogurt is good because of the probiotics but it might not be the best thing to give with the doxy.

3 weeks of doxy (2x daily)  is the usual treatment , have to check my bottle to see the dosage.

The day we started the doxy we started the heart meds.   Poor Holly vomited everything up.  My vet said to give pepcid and/or to feed small meals.  I wound up giving the doxy alone (wo heart meds) with about 1/4 cup of her raw meat.  5 times a days for 21 days !!

Well tonight I found out half a banana works instead of yogurt.  [;)]  I'm still not quite daring enough to retry the dog food, maybe on the weekend.
