Enlarged heart in senior

Our abdominal ultrasound today was normal for Alphie and Ashton and cardiodoppler for Alphie was a grade 3 mitral regurgitation and grade 1 tricupid regurgitation. I'm so worried. Vet said it was a grade 1A cardiac failure.. apparently the lowest grade, but *still* a cardiac failure... She's on supplements, not medication and I'm told to monitor. What can I expect from this? I was told this is due to old age, but I do suspect it's from her dental health.Which ever cause anyway, I was given more omega 3, a heart/aging formula, which is SO costly especially when it contains stuff I could supplement her separately.. I'm so afraid she would collapse on me, or faint, or stop breathing...

i wonder why she's not given any medication and just some supplements. Grade 3 sounds not too mild to me....

Sabine says it's ok to give supplements separately, but I'm curious why no medication is given for this. Anyone's dogs have had mitral valve grade 3 regurgitation and tricuspid grade 1 with medication? I don't want my cardiologist to ignore the issue and brush it off as an aging problem
