Hopefully, we'll be able to do the happy poo dance pretty soon.
    ha ha ha definitely hoping!

and in other good news the 'potentially a bacterial infection' spot is no longer raised. By golly the beast just might be on his way back to health!

you're thinking panalog, Janice.... and they don't make that anymore - that was a CURE ALL wonder medication!! I think they still make the animax, but it's not the same :(

I HAVE used panacur on kittens and such who've had bad diarrhea on their little bums to help soothe. I don't know why it works, but it does! But yes... commonly it's an internal wormer :)

Still improving but no where near normal poo yet. Still a small amount of blood too, he had a couple of movements yesterday that had no blood, so bi t by bit. He is still fairly sleepy but that could definitely be a combo of things. I will say they'll be some crazy zooms when he's all healed up!

Can't wait for normal poop reports and zoomies! I hope you feel better soon, Bugsy!

no blood this morning, still oddly colored (yellow-orange), formed but very small

swapped him over to sweet potato tonight which should provide a bit of bulk

He seems better, still sleeping more than usual (likely as much as a normal dog LOL) but he was very energetic on our walk this morning

Thank you for asking Big Smile

Quick update - we finished the metro/flagyl last night and his energy seems so much better!!!

He's had solid poops and of decent size and from what I can tell blood free the last two days (please Lord let this be the end of it)

I started feeding him a sweet potato with the protein of the day because I figured that would bulk things up and it did!  Of course we still had orange poop but hey I'm used to that now.

I've also been transitioning to his kibble by adding a bit to each meal - not sure how some of you home cook all the time - geez I don't mind feeding raw 'cause I can set it in his bowl and we're good to go.  But this cooking business, bah humbug LOL  Plus he eats about 1.5lbs of meat/fish and 2 whole sweet potatoes (we went through 5lbs of yukon golds in 3 days)  each day!

so hopeful that by early next week he's back on kibble and back to silly happy boy all day!

Kate we've had some significant zoomies the last two days - that is how I truly know he feels better

Great news, Karen!  I was just thinking about Bugsy today and wondering how he was doing.  Fingers and toes crossed that he continues to poop firm and zoom fast! lol

YAY for good orange poop!  And, I know what you mean about the cooking.  I tried that years ago and only lasted a few months.

Yeah for solid poops and zoomies! I'm so glad Bugsy's feeling better!!
