A 'chart' may be helpful for someone whose dog has just "gotten into" a once in a lifetime bit of chocolate.
But ............ I distrust individuals more than I get nervous about such information. It's honestly not that cut & dried -- that makes me REALLYuncomfortable (like some people will think they CAN give that much if they stay "under" an amount). I have a friend (who makes me crazy) who INSISTS that her dog "never gets sick" -- and she'll SAY she "tries to keep it away from her" but because she's convinced it's not a big deal she doesn't try really hard. *sigh*
Even a little is damaging to the liver -- and what *kind* of chocolate (how much dark chocolate is in it, the quality of it) makes a huge difference.
But some people think that just because the dog doesn't "get sick" that it's ok ... and it's cumulative to a degree because liver damage over a long time occurs
Chocolate is turned into a whole difference substance in the liver -- and it's a substance very very like cocaine.
How much cocaine is safe for you?
Maybe I'm splitting hairs here, but gee whiz ... just don't give it to them
