I would be lying if I denied being worried.

FWIW, Shooter has done almost the exact same thing four times, & we still don't know what causes it.  His bloods, xrays, & ultrasounds have always been normal.  He usually hooked up to IV fluids for 24-48 hours & then I get him back good as new.

Ditto!  Willow also has gone thru the same sudden episode about 2 years ago.  It scared the HECK out of me.  She was sick, in so much pain she couldn't lay down.  They kept her at the emergency hospital for a day, released her but I had her back less than 24 hours later.  But, other than "inflammed intestinal loops" we never knew what caused it.

Same here.  I know that she's usually not around on weekends, so I'm trying to keep that in mind, & not worry too much.

    • Gold Top Dog

Oh, nobody's heard from her?  Well, hopefully it's like was said, she's not around a computer on weekends.  Hope you are feeling better Jamison!!

I know Deb has posted previously that she stays as far away from a computer as possible after 2:00p on Fridays.  Maybe that is simply the reason for her absence or she is up to her eyeballs is snow and the crappy weather has knocked out power.

    I've been worried all weekend...

Sorry for all the worries you guys !!!  Between all the running around and snow this weekend I'm just checking in now.  Well. . . . . as many of you have said, this turned out to be a 48 hour thing.  Thurs, Fri, and Sat morning were bad.  He really couldn't even lay on his stomach it was sooooo swollen.  By Sat. night, however, he seemed to rally and ate some boiled chicken and rice and produced a nice big poop !!!  By Sun. morning he was like a demented puppy playing in the snow, which some of the drifts were bigger than him !!!  He seems totally fine now - no vomiting - swelling gone - good appetite - good poops - so I'm thinking we're out of the woods on this one.  It's just so weird that whatever it was came on so suddenly and then cleared up just as suddenly.  He's still on his meds for another few days, and now Kate is home to keep an eye on him, and NO extra treats for a few days until I know he's totally over whatever hit him.

I can't thank you guys enough for all the well wishes !!  Jamison is my first dog and he really is my baby, so you can imagine my worry.  Sorry if I got everyone worked up !!!

    I'm so relieved he's better!!

So happy to hear that he's feeling good again!

    To borrow from Meg...

    OY! glad that is over.

    • Gold Top Dog
Oy is right! Glad he's all better.
    • Gold Top Dog

Oh, thank doG he's okay.  Give him some belly rubs from me.

    • Gold Top Dog

I totally missed this, but glad he is feeling better.  Something like this happened to Charlie when he was about  9 - 10 months old around this time of the year.  The vet checked his gums and found a teeny tiny bug bite.  She guessed that he tried to eat a japanese beetle or something and it made him sick.

Again, so glad he's back to his old self again!

Glad Jamison is feeling better and was able to enjoy the snow!
