I'm late seeing this -- I'm so sorry to hear about your loss of Millie. I know all too well what an agonizing decision it is when you have to weigh the issues a dog's facing versus quality of life, etc. We had the same experience with our dog a year ago. One day would be fine, the next would be dreadful and we'd think surely it was time, only to see "his old self"

erk up normally. We did the same see-sawing on the way to the vet that night, and even now, so much time later, I'm still not sure we picked the right time. It's so hard to do what's best for them when they can't tell us how they're feeling.
My heart goes out to you, and to your parents, who are facing a huge hole in their bed each night (I know all about that too [

]). Hugs to all of you.
Millie, may you feel strong and young again, and watch over your family as they mourn your loss.
