Rainbow Bridge Welcoming Committee (Updated Jan 29/07)

Rainbow Bridge

The Rainbow Bridge is the theme of a work of poetic prose written some time between 1980 and 1992, whose original creator is unknown. The theme is of an other-worldly place to which a pet goes upon its death, eventually to be reunited with its owner.

I would love for you to add my dear sweet Boss, who went to the Bridge April 18, 2006 at 12.5 years of age.  I've been meaning to add him for a while, but haven't got around to it.

He first belonged to my neighbor, but decided he liked us better since my neighbor spent very little time with him.  After breaking his chain several times (he was tied) the neighbor gave up and gave us Boss when he was ten months old.  We had him from then on.  He was a great dog, being one of our first two dogs (Blacky was the other one) we made plenty of mistakes, but because of those mistakes and because of forums like i-dog, I've become a better dog owner.  Thanks, Boss, you helped me be a better dog-mom!  I love you always and forever.

Which ever picture would be best to use, please do, it doesn't matter to me.

Can you please put a picture of Sassy in? I just posted for Sassy in the other thread, but I'll tell her story again, because there are so few people in her life, she needs her story told by anyone who can. Sassy was at our shelter for many months because she was "evidence" in a court case of neglect against a local rescue. She and the other dogs couldn't be adopted, but finally, local authorities were able to convince the rescue's owner and attorneys to release the dogs to the shelter. Sassy was the first to be adopted, by a very nice lady that had been coming to visit her and take her for walks. This was about a week or ten days before Christmas. Then just last week, Sassy slipped out of her brand new collar and ran away, and they found her just a short time later, dead, hit by a car.

This is really nice.  Thanks so much for putting Casey's picture on the hill.  I come and look at it ever once in awhile.  Still missing her tremendously here.  I have made a shadow box with pictures, tags, her collar and a rose.  Plus the verse from Rainbow bridge.  Thanks again.  It's very nice.

Sierra - you won't know this from the words I share here, but having this image of the Rainbow Bridge Welcoming Committee to show my mom a short time after Joe passed on last night was more than touching and comforting.  It was almost like a relief to see these faces that will surely greet our Joe, and to know he won't be alone.
Thank you, for all the work you put into this.  It had particularly special meaning to me last night, and I'll be thankful for that for a long time.

This was Angel, she was a 9 1/2 year old aussie shepherd/lab mix. Angel had to be put to sleep due to cancer, kidney disease and heart trouble. She's the second dog I lost in a 4 day span. I miss her very much. Angel 5-27-97-12-6-06. Here's their memorial page I made.

This is just such a cool site.  We are still missing our Casey tremendously.  But.... I copied the picture to my computer and fixed the color a bit and then printed it out on a 4X6 photo paper with my photo printer and it is really nice.  Thank you again for taking the time to make this nice memorial to our best friends.
