Rainbow Bridge Welcoming Committee (Updated Jan 29/07)

Rainbow Bridge

The Rainbow Bridge is the theme of a work of poetic prose written some time between 1980 and 1992, whose original creator is unknown. The theme is of an other-worldly place to which a pet goes upon its death, eventually to be reunited with its owner.

This is a great idea, but I don't have pics here.  Maybe over Christmas I can get pictures of Shack, Pete, and Rosie so you can add them.  It's really sweet of you.

    All I have now:

    name: Smokie (August 2003 - July 2005)

Smokie was a beautiful beige chinchilla who died prematurely of a genetic intestinal defect.  He was very happy going and so hyper.  He loved attention and every time you'd come upstairs, he'd start jumping around the cage.  He was very inquisitive and loved getting new toys to play with.  He was a character through and through and would be the first one to welcome anyone else to the Bridge.

I don't know if you want small animals or not, but there he is.  :)

Of course I want small animals [:)] With the exception of fish.. I'm not sure how I'd add them in.. lol.

I'm always welcoming more pics! But I do apologize if I don't get around to adding them for a week or so.. next week is full of final exams that I've got to focus on. But your furry friends will make it into the pic shortly [:)]

    More pics are still welcomed....

    Sierra,

I just want you to know that every once in a while I check into your picture to say "Hi" to Socks.  You're doing a wonderful thing.

    Thanks,

My dear Panda crossed the rainbow bridge a little over 2 months ago, 10/11/2006. Her mom was a barn cat who abandonned her at one day old, so I took her home and bottle raised her. She had a heart murmur but we thought she was healthy other than that. Panda really was like a child to us as we recorded her first steps, first food, first bath, etc. We had a blessed 16 months and 28 days with her before she died of FIP after spending two weeks in the hospital. I think about her everyday, knowing that one day I'll be able to see her again. We miss you so much Panda-bear.

Our dear and best loving dog went to the bridge this morning.  She was a little over 14 years old.  We have traveled many places and seen many things together and we are truely missing her.  Run fast and free Casey.

Grammazona - I was also so sorry and so startled to see you had added the picture of Casey and that you lost her only this morning.  I know you have to be missing such a stellar companion and friend very keenly and my thoughts are with you.

When you feel up to it, you should start her her own Bridge thread so we all can say goodbye...
