Rainbow Bridge Welcoming Committee (Updated Jan 29/07)

Rainbow Bridge

The Rainbow Bridge is the theme of a work of poetic prose written some time between 1980 and 1992, whose original creator is unknown. The theme is of an other-worldly place to which a pet goes upon its death, eventually to be reunited with its owner.

Rainbow Bridge Welcoming Committee (Updated Jan 29/07)

I don't know if this is something you all would be interested in, but I thought it might be a comfort to some people, to have a visual of where their beloved pal has gone to, once they have passed through this earth.
The photo below is a (perhaps not very good) representation of where they might go. And I hope to be preparing a welcoming committee photo.

So, if anyone wants to add a pet that has gone to the Rainbow Bridge to the photo below, just post a pic (preferrably a full body photo), along with a small bio, and he or she will be added to the photo below. I hope this makes sense.

My heart girl.  She was very empathic, sweet, gentle & a ball hound.  I'm sure she's there greeting all the newcomers to the Bridge, showing them where all the sunny spots are & the best meadows for running.

Wonderful idea, Sierra. I'll have to scan a photo of my Grace, to add.

Misty (the one on my chest) May 1988 to 2-17-05. She was a bit aloof but when you see her, you know your at the Bridge.

First is Sancho. He was a very good boy and loved everyone/everything. He was my special boy. He is extremly missed and would have been the best dog..He sadly passed due to parvo when he was 6 months old..

Second is Ellie. She came to me after being picked up by a very nice lady on the side of the road. I was supposed to be her temporary home. She had a hurt paw but was such a goofy sweetheart. Sadly, only a month after I had her, we realized she had distemper and although we tried our best she had to be euthanized. This picture was taken when I knew the end was near for her. My only consulation is knowing she at least had a loving home for a month.

    For those who dont know:

Heres my Kayla who went to the Bridge about 6 months ago from pancreatitis.  We did treatment which went fine but the inflammation caused a blood clot while healing.  She was 3 and a half years old, and the best thing to ever happen to my life.  She died in her sleep while in bed with DH and I and for that I can always be thankful.

To doggies going to the Bridge:

Kayla is my soul mate... shes waiting for me at the Bridge.  She will gladly welcome any newcomers!  She is the sweetest girl, always ready to play with you... but she wants to be in charge at the same time, although if you also like to be in charge she wont fight ya for it.  Be careful.. she is FAST!  Good luck catching her, running is her specialty, and shes got some moves![:)]  She will cuddle up and sleep with you, and will help you find dried worms to eat for a snack.  She will lick your ears and eyes and also act like a mommy to you.  And be sure to tell my Kayla how much her momma loves her.

This is the closest to a full body picture I have..

Princess was the most loyal dog..she was my first dog and I grew up with her. Princess loved everybody and knew many tricks. I loved her so much. She slept, ate, sometimes shopped, and heck even went to the restroom with me. We were unseperable. We went through our first hurricane together and Princess made everything seem ok. She went to the rainbow bridge at 10, way too soon for me. I hope and pray that the rainbow bridge is real is that I'll be able to go and meet my Princess once again. I don't think anyone will love me as much as my dog ever did.

Only thing I have to a full body shot.

I was 4 years old when I pick my first pet. My mom said he was ugly, but he grew into a handsome cat. He was my Cuddles.

Cuddles was a loving cat he was always trying to get your love and attention. He loves to play fetch with your socks, call my mom's name, and was always ready to play with you. Loved to show off his belly, attach your toes, and always cuddle with you. Never put up a fight when I dressed him up in doll clothes and treated him like a baby.

Sadly at the age 7 he started to gain weight then he came sick before we could do anything he pasted away one December afternoon. There is not a day that goes by that I don't think of Cuddles.
