I am so sorry, Amanda.  I knew you and Brutus were bound to have a very special relationship when you stopped to pick up a beat-up and bloody dog in your brand new, supposedly dog-free, sports car.  He knew he found somebody special when he found you.

Run free sweet boy.

 I am so sorry for your loss. Since we just recently lost our Shelby girl, I so know what you are going through. She was my comedian as well.

Smanda, I posted on FB but wanted to send my gentle hugs and prayers here also.  I'm sure Brutus is laying in the shade somewhere now watching over and bragging on you!

Godspeed Brutus. You are very much loved and missed. Run free and without pain at the Bridge, knowing that one day you will reunite with your beloved human.

Its never easy to make that decision, but I am sure Brutus is thankful that you stuck by him til the end and fulfilled your promise to him. I love this poem and I hope you enjoy it too.

If it should be I grow frail and weak

and pain prevents my peaceful sleep.
