Rainbow Bridge

The Rainbow Bridge is the theme of a work of poetic prose written some time between 1980 and 1992, whose original creator is unknown. The theme is of an other-worldly place to which a pet goes upon its death, eventually to be reunited with its owner.

    My sympathy on lossing your boy, especially so suddenly.  You've got to be just stunned.  I'm so sorry.

    Glenda, I'm SO sorry for your sudden loss. There are no words to make it easier to lose one so young.

    Thanks to all of you.  Has been an incredibly busy day, thankfully, so I didn't have much time to think about poor Thor.  This is just unbelievable.  How?  Why?  What?

    He has been whining on and off for the past few months....just random whining.  We told him we were going to get him a pink bow for whining like a little girl.  Now, I wonder if he was trying to tell us something.  But he acted fine, he ate like a horse.....I just don't know.  I have absolutely no clue.

    I am very thankful that it was quick and pretty easy for him.  At least he went gently.  And, at least we have warmer weather coming so that hopefully we can bury him in the next few days.  Poor Todd is just crushed.....Thor was HIS dog first and foremost.

    Thor was just 9...maybe 10.  I'd have to dig out his papers to be sure, but he was pretty young for whatever happened to happen.

    He will be so greatly missed.

    I'm so sorry for your loss.  I will make a special request of Dancer for her to show him around at the Bridge, and I know that Mike's mom, who loves GSD's and is also in the spirit land will make him feel at home there until you are all reunited.

    I think I just got through the worst time, aside from the burial.  I took the dogs down, one at a time, to say goodbye.  Told them all what a wonderful place the Rainbow Bridge is and how happy Thor will be there.  Theo wouldn't go close at all, Tyler took a sniff and left, Sheba stuck around the longest.  And now, Thor, and the comfy bed are wrapped in a blanket on a shelf in the shed until we can lay his body to rest.

    Big guy, I sure hope you're running like the wind up at the Bridge.
