Rainbow Bridge

The Rainbow Bridge is the theme of a work of poetic prose written some time between 1980 and 1992, whose original creator is unknown. The theme is of an other-worldly place to which a pet goes upon its death, eventually to be reunited with its owner.

    My grandpa died this morning. He was 92.  Rest in peace grandpa, you won't hurt anymore and now you can see grandma and your daughter, Sheri.

    I have no more living grandparents.

    Leslie, I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your Grandpa.  I assume he lived near you, so I hope you had many years to enjoy his company, especially recently if you knew you'd be saying goodbye soon.

    Three of my grandparents died before I was 2, and I have no memory of them.  My remaining grandmother was a rather formal person, so I didn't enjoy the type of experiences many people have with warm, affectionate grandparents as they grow up.  I hope you have lots of happy memories of your Grandpa -- and that you're comforted knowing there are others who are welcoming him with great joy now.  Take care.
