Rainbow Bridge

The Rainbow Bridge is the theme of a work of poetic prose written some time between 1980 and 1992, whose original creator is unknown. The theme is of an other-worldly place to which a pet goes upon its death, eventually to be reunited with its owner.

    Around 7 this morning, the Incredible Miss Corky was having a morning chat with her daddy.  He was on the computer, she in her crate in the drivers seat and they had a good mornin chat.  Recently Corky has been having little "seizures" almost where she goes into a trying to flap her wings frenzy, clearly her nuerological issues have been getting worse.  This morning she snapped her sweet little neck in her frenzy.

    I know she was "damaged" and a really wierd pet, but dang it, I'm really going to miss my sweet little lap duck.

    Run....and fly.....free Miss Corky.

    Oh nooo, I am so sorry to hear this.  Fly right over that Bridge, Corky -- you will love love LOVE swimming in the River of Life that flows under the Bridge!

    Since we changed sites and this one is so much bigger, I had put up her BIG pool instead of the little one.  So at least her last swim was in her beloved big pool.  I'm betting MIL is thrilled to have the little ducklet with her.

    Oh no!! Poor corky. I agree, we will all miss that little duck. I loved hearing corky stories. *hugs*

    I know that little miss ducklet is free of any pain, free of the bum leg and all the nuero problems, but, gosh, when I was cleaning out her crate I just broke down and sobbed.  and all because of ONE turd that was on the bottom of the crate that managed to escape the duck matts and newspapers.  She had her morning chat with daddy, she swam in her big pool yesterday and she is free.  But, my heart is so heavy at her loss.  Guess thats what I get for loving soooo much.
