Fergie certainly had an amazing and long life and passed peacefully, so that is truly a blessing. I'm sorry for your loss but hope the wonderful memories you have will bring you comfort.

It appears that Mike's son's new baby was born last night.  Anyone think Fergie couldn't wait to tell her doggy dad that he is a grandpa????

That's amazing and beautiful. It's nice to think of Mike holding Fergie on his lap and the smile on his face at the news of being a grandpa.

It is, isn't it?  For anyone who ever wonders if you should keep an old dog going once they go deaf and blind, think of this little girl on a mission!  She was deaf and blind for over three years, and still managed to find her way around (and didn't hold it against me for occasionally moving something vital), knew when the other dogs got let out and woke up to find me to take her too, and wagged her little tail whenever she would bump into me standing at the kitchen sink (obviously in her way).  If the *dog* is happy, the humans shouldn't worry;-)

So sorry for your loss.  She led a great full life (probably more than any other dog I know actually!) and is now running free LISTENING to the wind blow and WATCHING for the day to meet with you again.
