Rainbow Bridge

The Rainbow Bridge is the theme of a work of poetic prose written some time between 1980 and 1992, whose original creator is unknown. The theme is of an other-worldly place to which a pet goes upon its death, eventually to be reunited with its owner.

Thanks so much friends!  Its just really something how we all know and care on this forum... I just love it. Ollie wasn't really my dog...but he really was.    But really once Mike moved to the other side of town I  would still make him food to put on his kibble... bought his probiotic supplement... bought him tons of Christmas presents,,,as many as I bought for Bubby, but Mike and his girl ( eventually wife ) got more and more involved with things on that side of town..and their friends and all....I had to make myself get over him a little.  So why am I crying all day?  I couldn't talk on the phone today...I knew I couldn't talk about him. He isn't even mine, but in my mind he was.

    Thanks again!

Dyan, I'm late seeing this, but I'm sending my condolences to you  . . . . . it makes perfect sense to be so emotional about the loss of Ollie, even if he wasn't your dog.  He still had a special place in your heart and you'll feel his absence regardless.  I've mourned the loss of many dogs who weren't part of my household -- we can become very attached to furry friends even if we spend time with them only occasionally.  I hope it gives you some comfort to know that Ollie has many companions at the Bridge, including some new friends he may not recognize, but most importantly, to know that Bubblegum is by his side.

Rest easy, Ollie -- you were a beautiful, loved boy!

I just saw this!!!!  I'm so sorry.  I so enjoyed hearing all about Ollie back then, and it's sad to hear that he is gone.  But, as you know, there's a little B&W up there who will take good care of him...

There a lot of B & W up there now.....I'm counting on them to take care of him!   He is so sweet and easy going...a real push over...he needs someone to look after him.

Just getting a chance to look through the forum a bit more and finding things I hadn't seen before. Diane, I remember way back when...when you first came on this forum and have followed some of your Ollie stories. I am so sorry for your loss.....like you said, he was just like being your own dog. Sending some comforting thoughts your way.

Thank you!  And all those photos I used to put up of him.  He took the best photos...always had a cute expression.....or doing something that was so fun.   He was over my house all the time...stayed so many nights that when Mike moved him across town I was heartbroken...honestly. That is when I got Bubblegum.

And now they are both gone.... :(
