• nymaureen Posted : 8/11/2007 10:40:52 PM I am so sorry ottoluv. This hits a very sensitive spot with me, as I also have a cat named Maxwell and he was just diagnosed with kidney disease. This info did complicate a decision on surgery that we are having to make. We are hoping though, that he will last for some time yet, as he hasn't started to show signs of the disease. He was diagnosed due to tests for the surgery. He is going to have to have one of his ear canals removed due to cancer.  I have lost others to kidney disease though and I know, as you do, that there is only so much that we can do to prolong their life. You have made a very tough decision but one that was made out of the great love that you had for your Maxwell. Poor Otto is so sad to loose his big brother.
