Hero is gone

Rainbow Bridge

The Rainbow Bridge is the theme of a work of poetic prose written some time between 1980 and 1992, whose original creator is unknown. The theme is of an other-worldly place to which a pet goes upon its death, eventually to be reunited with its owner.

Gina, I'm just now seeing this very sad news.  I had only seen your earlier update that said Hero had been starting to show signs of some improvement.  When I'm away from the forum for a day or two, I always worry I'll find something heartbreaking when I check back in . . . and I just felt terrible when I saw your post in this section.

Hero was such a sweet little puppy, and he was trying so hard to stay here on earth.  Now he has a special place at the Bridge where he can really live up to his name, being an "angel hero" for dogs that went to the Bridge without having had loving people caring for him before they died.  He has LOTS of extra love to share -- mostly from your heart and everyone in your family, but he had lots of love from forum friends who didn't even meet him.  I like to imagine him being a good angel friend to lonely or neglected dogs.

I'm so sorry for your loss.  Take care.
Run free, wee Hero.  You will be dearly missed sweet little guy!

Oh Gina I haven't been on in a while I don't even know what happened I will do a search.
    I am so sorry.

I thought of Hero today while I was playing Twilight Princess. Link was playing fetch with a beagle in Castletown. How fitting!

I'm so sorry for your loss, it's so sad to lose an animal at such a young age. [:(] You have my thoughts, prayers and hugs.

The book is closed for real on this whole sad ordeal.

Hero's remains were collected today by my husband and he's now next to my heart dog O'Kami on my mantle. It's a very nice little box...I haven't looked inside...guess you're not supposed to. He was so little. I am again very sad...looking at this little box he could have fit into still living and probably chewed on a bit...*sigh*

Another round of thanks to all here who cared and worried and cried about my baby boy...it's been more help than you'll ever know.

    Gina,

I again can't tell you how sorry I am.  I am glad you have him back home with you.  You let us into your lives with all of the pictures, videos and pregnancy diaries and I will be forever grateful.  If it was possible I love and cherish Charlie all the more now.  As a new dog owner and having never lost a pet before I forgot that it is possible and to cherish every minute that I have with him.

Continued hugs from Wisconsin for you!

What was exactly wrong with Hero?

Gina,,,I can't believe I just read this for the first time... in the middle of August.
I just wanted to tell you how sorry I am....and I love the pictures of Hero that you posted at the beginning.  I don't have a lot of time and just follow a few threads....but I feel so bad that I missed sending you my sympathy.
    Run free little Hero!!!
