Thanks everyone.  Thanksgiving was different this year.  Without Buster was hard enough and then to lose Lady the night before, was even harder.  The house feels emptier even though she didn't really get up and around too much.  We are all healing here and Finn is keeping us busy with his shenanigans!   Max is pretty depressed.  He has been moping around since the night we took her in.  I think he knew.  He gets this way when someone disappears.  He was depressed when DH's mom passed away, when Buster dies, when DH works an overnight job.  He is just a sensitive guy.  He did play with Finn a bit yesterday and I thought that cheered him up for a bit, but he wouldn't play today and he just has a sad look on his face.  I know it will pass, I just feel bad for the poor guy.

I'm sorry to hear about Lady's passing.  I hope everyone in your household (people AND animals) feels stronger each day as you all get used to Lady's absence.  The first holidays without our special furry family members are very difficult, but I like to imagine them watching us from wherever they are, celebrating with us in spirit.  Take care - and sending sympathy vibes to all of you.

So sorry, GeorgAnne - wishing all of you comfort and peace as you adjust to this loss, especially sensitive Max.

Oh GeorgAnne - you are such a blessing to your "kids".   I'm so sorry for your loss.   

I know its SO hard when they have to go but take comfort in knowing that they had so many fulfilled dreams being a part of your life.    So many dogs don't get that chance.  Every day that we get to show a dog love is a day we teach the world what TRUE love is - and the world has, can and WILL learn much about true love from watching you.

 Run free Lady, with no pain and on the wings of an angel.   And please tell Buster we still think of him often.
