The Rainbow Bridge is the theme of a work of poetic prose written some time between 1980 and 1992, whose original creator is unknown. The theme is of an other-worldly place to which a pet goes upon its death, eventually to be reunited with its owner.

    I just want to express my heart felt condolences to all the people, pets and wildlife affected by the bush fires in Victoria Australia. I know of some people who lost there lives in trying to rescue their pets especially their horses and although the human toll is horrific, I also feel for the animals that not only died but have been injured and are scared. Many here are giving their expertise in vet services and food and resourses. Maybe some prayers and special thoughts could help too.  Thanks all.

    I am daily thinking of the people and animals suffering and the loss of life is staggering.  The many volunteers have my most fervent prayers and my thanks for the selfless work they are doing to help.  The pictures shown can't possibly convey the reality of this tragedy but they are enough to break my heart.
