In memory of Harley

Rainbow Bridge

The Rainbow Bridge is the theme of a work of poetic prose written some time between 1980 and 1992, whose original creator is unknown. The theme is of an other-worldly place to which a pet goes upon its death, eventually to be reunited with its owner.

    In memory of Harley

I havent posted in over a year but I thought I should post this.

Harley  passed away suddenly and without warning at the age of 3 1/2 yesterday afternoon.

I am utterly devestated and totally lost without him.

I'm so sorry for your loss. It's hard enough to lose an old pet but to lose one so young and without warning...... I'm sorry.

Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers.

It's day two and it still hurts as much as it did when I had to say goodbye. I know it time it will get better, I'll never forget the little guy. He was the best dog, loved by everyone.

Oh dear little Harley.  Here is a poem for you.

HAVE YOU A DOG IN HEAVEN? Have you a dog in Heaven, Lord?
And do you pat his head?
Does he sit up and beg each night
    before he goes to bed?

Does he look up with shining eyes
when he sees Your smilling face?
Does he wag his stubby little tail
when he wants to run a race?

Have You a dog in Heaven, Lord?
Is there room for just one more?
    Cause my little dog died today;
he'll be waiting at Your door.

Please take him into Heaven, Lord.
And keep him there for me,
just feed him, pet him, love him, Lord,
thats all he'll ask of Thee.
