Thanks. Now that I'm not has hurt, I can write a proper one...
Tango fell sick very fast. What started out as a regular vet visit a few months ago started the spiral that would end her life. She was only with me two years but in those two years, she was by my side (or pestering the dogs), begging for food whenever someone was in the kitchen.. She was the first cat I ever trained like a dog. She was very motivated by hot dogs..
I miss her quack. She could never meow like a regular cat. I miss her demanding to be picked up. I miss her purr when I fed her.
Dodger seems to be taking it the hardest. In the last month or so, Dodger really bonded with Tango. He would check on her many times a day, he tried to get her moving so she could get some exercise. Last night I knew it was the end, I had Dodger come in and sniff her over before she passed. He seemed to understand something was happening. After she died, and before I buried her, I brought him to sniff her again. He seemed to accept the fact that she was gone..
Boy was I wrong.. Today he's been searching for her almost frantically.
We'll all heal in time. But there will never be another cat like Tango.
Run Free Tango and be at peace.
