In memory of Thunder

• In memory of Thunder ChancesMama Posted : 5/26/2007 11:10:31 PM My neighbor lost one of his colts earlier today, his name was Thunder. He had a rough start he was rejected by his mother and was doing great on a nurse mare till today when he hit his head on concrete, had a seizure and died. He wasn't even mine but i'm very sad about this, [] [] [] he was a sweet little guy and so loving. Thunder was only a day old. • calliecritturs Posted : 5/26/2007 11:15:08 PM Sometimes when an animal gets a 'rough start' -- particularly if the mother has rejected them, I think it's because she somehow senses the animal just plain isn't going to make it.  Animals can be incredibly pragmatic about such things -- it's distressing to us, but sometimes I think they just plain understand "it's better that this one dies young rather than hurting over and over" -- it sounds as if there was just something not quite right.    It IS heart-breaking.  Thunder was a sweetie -- I don't think any of us can not see that picture and not fall a bit in love.   But Thunder is running free in that Meadow above -- and he waits -- maybe as much for you as for whoever actually owned him.  0 LIKE Like Share You have posted to a forum that requires a moderator to approve posts before they are publicly available.
