Harry

Rainbow Bridge

The Rainbow Bridge is the theme of a work of poetic prose written some time between 1980 and 1992, whose original creator is unknown. The theme is of an other-worldly place to which a pet goes upon its death, eventually to be reunited with its owner.

    Harry

For the 11 months you were with us, you were an amazing friend.  We will all miss you so so much.  Our time together was way too short.  Run free little one.

Harry -- that little red and white dog that met you at the bottom of the Bridge was my Pollyanna.  She probably ran circles around you .... she went quick too -- and left me in utter shock and grief.  But she'll show you all the great places to play and run and PLAY and RUN.  You see, when Polly was here she couldn't run because her back was broken.  But altho some of you come to us for such a very very short time -- that doesn't lessen your impact on us.  Polly changed me, and you changed your Mom.

Laurelin -- thanks for sharing this.  He was beautiful.  Gentle hands lifted him Home and you had no difficult decisions to make.  Today there is no way you want to hear about the 'positives' but I'm just thankful he went in his sleep.  If any of us had a choice, it's the way we'd all pick I"m sure.

Run Free little one.  Know that on the other side of the bridge there are none of the horrors that are on this side.  Run free Harry.

Oh, Harry, you beautiful little thing.  Thank you for sharing some time here on earth with Lauren and your family.  Looks like you had a cherished life with them.
So sad for you, Lauren.  Comforting thoughts coming your way from the east coast.

Laurelin, may I ask?  What happened to Harry?  I must have lost that thread.  I apologize and if it is too hard to chat about now, please forget this request.  Take care,

I'm so sorry to hear about the sudden and tragic loss of your sweet Harry.  I missed your earlier posts about his seizures -- what a scary and heartbreaking time for you and your family.  One of my friends just lost her dog very suddenly last week after only having her for less than a year (a few months ago she spent thousands of dollars of surgery to make her healthy and whole, only to have her fine one day and gone the next).  When we lost our beloved dog, it was after a few months of illness, and I thought I'd collapse from exhaustion and worry.  I don't know what's worse:  watching your furbaby decline and fail over time while you "prepare" for a goodbye, or having them taken from you so suddenly, like Harry, without any chance to do anything.  Either way, the crushing pain is the same, and it takes a long time to begin to live with it.

My thoughts are with you and your family.  Little Harry, your time was too brief on earth, but you'll have eternal life as an angel now, so watch over all those who love and miss you.

P.S. - When I went back to read your original posts about Harry, I didn't realize he was the dog in that absolutely precious photo of the "twin raspberry tongues" in the bathtub.  I think that's one of my all-time favorite photos on this forum!  I'm sure Harry is a popular cutie at the Bridge.
