My BELOVED BROWNIE Mommy will miss you. Rest In peace

Rainbow Bridge

The Rainbow Bridge is the theme of a work of poetic prose written some time between 1980 and 1992, whose original creator is unknown. The theme is of an other-worldly place to which a pet goes upon its death, eventually to be reunited with its owner.

I am so so sorry about Brownie. I read your other post just today.  Right about the same days, I was going thru the same thing with Zeus on June 9.  I made several bad decisions which ultimately delayed me putting him down until June 14.  I feel such quilt that he perhaps suffered 5 more days on top of the previous month duriing which time I did not know he was sick.  I don;t know if Brownie had a hemangiosarcoma, which is a tumor on the liver or spleen or heart, but I researched it for many days after and there was no hope.  Even if you found it early, the survival is only 19-60 days with surgery and 6 months with chemo. THis is a dreadful thing to have, and you have no time to really think about it before you must decide to end his misery.  You did the right things, you tried the best you could, there was no amount of money that could have changed the outcome.  Letting him go to the bridge was the kindest, final act you made as his mother.   Please don;t feel quilty over making the wrong choices, you made a lot of good choices during this crisis.  When you knew in your heart of hearts that it was time, you and your husband made the hardest decision of your lives.  This is all our beloved dogs ask of us, to not let them suffer after they loved you so dearly. You can be assured that Brownie is now free to run in his healthy body like a pup, that he has lots of friends up there, and he is looking out for you and will meet you when its your time to go.  This is what keeps me going, the thought of our reunion.

Run free Brownie - say hi to Holly and Zeus

I couldn't have said this better, Vanessa.  I'm sure that you and Brownie will be reunited some day and until then, know that you released him into a land of peace with no hurt and all the things he will need until you get there many years from now.

Van,  one more thing, both vets at 2 places assured me that these tumors are painless.  This gives me solice and I hope it helps you as well.  Zeus's tummy was tender like Brownie and that is really how we knew something was not right along with panting and coughing.  You were the best mommy ever and Brownie knew it.  Brownie loves you forever.  Take care.
