Harry

Rainbow Bridge

The Rainbow Bridge is the theme of a work of poetic prose written some time between 1980 and 1992, whose original creator is unknown. The theme is of an other-worldly place to which a pet goes upon its death, eventually to be reunited with its owner.

Lauren, I'm so sorry for your loss of Harry. [sm=sad.gif] He looked like such a sweet and happy dog. You can tell by his pictures that he knew he was loved, because in everyone of them he looks happy.  What Calliecritturs wrote was just beautiful.
Rest in Peace, dear Harry at the Rainbow Bridge.[sm=angel.gif]

Lauren - I was so utterly shocked to see this thread and I missed the thread telling of his sudden illness. I can only imagine how much this has you all reeling!

He was such a delightfully cute little boy and clearly had such personality contained in that little frame.  I know you will miss him terribly.

I also wanted to express my sympathy for having been through the seizures with him; I have a cat who has seized and it's a terrifying thing to witness.  I just wanted to assure you, though I'm sure the doctor's did, that even though it is hard to watch, seizure activity does not cause pain -humans and animals might feel some soreness afterwards, but in itself, the seizure is not painful.

Wishing you much comfort and peace for sweet little Harry.

I'm so sorry. Run free at the bridge, Harry.

Run free Harry, there no more seizures to scare or confuse you.

Poor little Harry.  I'm so very sorry for your loss, Laurelin.  I very much understand how difficult it is and my heart goes out to you and your family.

Thanks so much guys, I just realized I never responded to this.  It's been a trying time for us all.  We are planting a memorial tree over his grave this weekend.  We had a lovely service for him.  He has a butterfly stone over his grave where his ashes are buried.  We've gotten some wonderful support from all of you and other friends.  It's really meant a lot to us.

I got this wonderful picture from a friend from another forum, just wanted to share, I thought it was so kind of her:

    Here's some videos of him:

The picture is beautiful.  I wish I had talent like that.  Heck, I wish I had friends who had talent like that [:)].

I enjoyed the videos too.  The ones of them drying off on the carpet were funny.  What sweet dogs and what great memories you have of Harry.

I'm glad I have the videos too.  I took them about a week before he died.  I was bawling my eyes out too watching them.

I don't know how you are able to watch the videos.  When we knew FeFe was sick, I already had a bunch of photos and some video but I became obsessed over capturing everything for fear of forgetting all the small things.  There are times I can't bare to look at the photos and some days, I can't get enough of them.  Although, I've yet to watch a video.  I just don't think I can handle it.

The photos of Harry are so adorable... he looks like such a sweetheart.  The picture from your friend is the coolest thing.  I'm with Cathy... I wish I had friends that had talent like that!

We planted a rose bush just a little behind FeFe's grave... last year, it bloomed over and over - well into the last days of Fall.  I think the memorial tree is a wonderful idea.  Wishing you peace and comfort as you go through this difficult time.
