Have you heard of PetQuench Fortified water?

Have any of you heard of a new product called PetQuench™ Fortified Water? This is a new bottled water that is designed to improve pet’s health. Created by a PEI-based company, Aquience, this product is directed to help improve the GI health and urinary tract health of our pets, primarily by increasing the amount of water dogs and cats drink each day. With the popularity of dry and moist food diets, dogs and cats are no longer consuming the same amount of water they once did, and veterinarians all over are telling pet owners that their pets need to drink more water. This is just the thing needed to help pet owners achieve that goal.

Containing pure water and a natural attractant that makes drinking water more attractive, the current research is showing multiple benefits. The simple increase in water consumption can aid in the digestion of the dry-food diets, reduce the specific gravity of urine (involved in reducing stone formation, especially in cats where stones are prevalent), reduce urine and stool odor, and that’s just the beginning. There is no need to worry about problems stemming from over-supplementation with vitamins and minerals, since PetQuench water does not contain any vitamins or minerals, so it will not interfere with your pet’s current diet, as there is more than enough data out there pointing out the dangers of oversupplementation.

Our family has used on several occasions, with great success. In our case, it has proven very useful (and essential) for many things, the most recent having been during time of illness to entice the dogs to drink, and now we always have a bottle or two on hand in case it is ever needed again. It's also great for anybody who travels or does competition in general, where dogs might be undergoing stress and not be drinking as much as they should, or if they don't like drinking the water that is available.

    What do you all think?

sounds rather like a commercial, did you write the above or copy/paste? lol

Not anything I'd be interested in...if I worry about dehydration due to illness, I have Ringers on hand and I do subQ.

The last thing that Luke has issues with is drinking!!  I call him my little water buffalo.  He will drink water anywhere, any time.  I usually have to make him stop.

I am baffled by all of the people who bring water from home for their dogs at trials.  They say that either their dog won't drink strange water or that different water upsets their dog's tummy.  I feel rather fortunate to have a dog that isn't bothered by different water at all.  I figure it's from being hauled all over creation his entire life and drinking whatever was available.

Ditto Karissa.  The ONLY time in my LIFE I've ever drank bottled water myself was when I was in Africa, and I still got sick (Giardia...or something with very similar consequences...).  I'll be darned if my dogs won't drink from the tap.  My dogs try to drink from backed up sewer drains and gooey mud puddles while we're on walks...

ROFL, Pirate does the same thing. 'NO Pirate, get out of the puddles!!' is frequent here.

Ack! It does sound sort of like a commercial doesn't it? *G* No, I wrote it myself. I actually just started doing a little bit of work for the company, part-time while finishing up university. It's funny because we used it long before I even realized that the company was based in my province, and when I applied to the company I didn't realize at the time that they were the makers of it!

Anyhow, the way in which we have used it was in the context of health and illness, when it enticed animals to drink during a time which they really did not want to consume anything at all, and not everybody is in a position to be able to give their own SubQ fluids. On a normal day they are avid water drinkers and have no issues with water! Ours don't have issues with drinking water at other places, but I do know so many dogs who have issues in drinking water at competition events, so it would be something to keep in mind as an option.

Anyhow, I was just curious to see if anybody else had heard of it or had used it, and to generate some discussion, as I hadn't seen it discussed here before, which was the aim for this post! Not to make a commercial. ;-)

Really? I just posted to see what others have thought of it. I'm not advertising a product. Heck, the product likely isn't available for 95% of the people on this forum, so it hardly seems like advertising! *G* I was just interested to see if anybody else has used it and what they thought of the result. Not just because I work there, but because I've used it long before being associated with the company, and just happened to think of it after I started working with them. Does that mean if I happened to work for, say, Royal Canin that I can't discuss their food products whatsoever as it is seen as advertising?

That's not a poke, it's a geniune question. I didn't even consider that it would be seen as an advertisement, but if you feel that way please do remove it. I have been a member a long enough time here that I would have thought it would be seen as simple discussion, no different than if I discussed products at a pet store that I might work at (I don't, but it's the same principle), but maybe I was incorrect.
