Drs Foster and Smith Foods.

I just purchased a 15 pound bag of Drs Foster and Smith food. My dogs don't seem to care for it at all .They barely touch it unless they are so hungry .They are also really gassy from it. My question is have any of you ever used it ? If so how do your dogs react to it?

My dog didn't like it either.If they are gassy, then its probably not agreeing with them anyway. Try a different one.

Thanks for the reply. I just have to finish this bag first .Then i'll try the lamb and rice and see what happens.

Did you do a gradual changeover from thier old food; if not that can make them gassy 'cause thier systems not used to the new food.

Cant you take it back and get a refund or exchange for something else? Or was this an internet order? I wouldnt make them finish off 15lbs of food if they obviously dont like it and barely touch it unless they are starving [&:].

If they dont like this one,i wouldnt get my hopes up of them liking the lamb formula...

No I didn't. I honestly didn't think there would be that much of a change from Nutro Natural to Dr Foster and Smith.The gas is getting better ,but they still don't seem to care for it.

It was a on line order . It's a shame ,I heard so many good things about it in the past.My dogs do not like it.I wanted to try something different for them.

No,i wouldnt have thought there'de be much difference between Nutro and fosters either.

Have you tried any of the super premium foods?

Some ones i can recommend which are great foods,plus also have high palatabiltity:

I never tried any of the super premium foods that listed ,but I have tried Merrick .It just seemed like my dogs where always hungry on Merrick. I do use Canidae though..My dogs like it .What I was looking for was another brand of food or two brands to rotate every 4 months or so.This way my dogs get variety and nutrition maybe that one food could be lacking.

Drs F&S dog food is a good food, I love the ingredients, but not all dog do well on certain high quality ingredients. If you are already feeding Innova, you can try rotating with Natural Balance, California Naturals or Eagle Pack. All of these foods have a great variety and it would be nice for your dog to get different foods.
