Want to practice??

As for the forum rules - Is it because it's locked?  When I first looked at it, there was a red lock on it, but I Edited and attempted to change the stickiness to 1 Year.  When I posted and went back to look at it, the lock is now red, but it still isn't stickied.  I'd check the provisions on that particular section of the forum - have there been sticky threads there before?

So, for practice - are you saying we edit testing1234's account, then sign in to see what they see when we edit them?  Where are you playing with it, just the profile itself, or in a thread somewhere?

 I tried to sticky the boilerplate thread (here in the mod's den) as well as the "naughty list" and NOTHING will sticky for me.  Grrr!  So, I don't think it's a locking issue, but just in case, can you try those too??

 I just went in and edited Testing1234's signature (i posted from the Test account in the technical questions area so it's like having access to a real poster) to see if I could, I also banned the account, then tried to log in with it... i tested those kind of things, just to see how they worked, if I got it right, etc... without the fear of messing up someone's real account! :)

You can DO IT, Karen!!  Your hard work will be rewarded.  Sending some chocolate and virtual wine to calm your nerves. :)  Off to try and sticky things... I'm sure it's a setting on our profiles if others could do it, but we couldn't.

Edited - ok, so, we can create a stickied thread (see my tester which will only be stickied for a day), but we can't edit existing threads.  Since Gina could, I suspect there's a profile setting limit or conflict for that.  (ie, one role allows us to do X & Z, another role allows X, Y, & Z, or somesuch.  Depends on what sort of userid platform this is.  Interesting.  I miss my IT testing days...)

BTW I skimmed through the Vick thread the other day (may have been yesterday it is a blur) and no issues

So, what does the Moderate button do, btw??

 It should be a drop down that gives you choices such as edit, delete, move etc

For me only works on IE so you should be good to go!

 Do you mean the other moderate button, cause Karen covered the main one.  ... I'm not sure.  I've gone in to look at it and it says members are "unmoderated" i'm not exactly sure what happens if they ARE moderated.  Shall we try it on the test account?

I mean on every single post, there's individual buttons across the top right for Reply, Delete, Edit, Favorites, Contact, and now I see Moderate.  When I click on the Moderate button, it "depresses", but there's no drop-down and it doesn't appear to do anything, other than make that button dark grey like something is activated.

 That's as Karen said. Are you using IE?? it only works when in IE. It will give you various options.

I use IE and I get nothing.  No drop down.

 uh oh that is what happens when I use my laptop - I get the drop down on my desktop fortunately

I have tried everything with the laptop but no dice.  FWIW laptop is Vista and desktop is XP
