Admin, your thoughts?

    Admin, your thoughts?

PM I got from l michelle....maybe just have her erase her own post? But that doesn't help if people have answered or quoted...

"Hi, I'm just wondering if you might be able to delete my topic here:  http://community.dog.com/forums/t/91709.aspx

Call me paranoid, but I worry my mother might actually see it, and then very bad things will happen, and I have so much to deal with with her lately.

I know it sounds like an odd request, but I'm wondering if it's possible?

    Thanks,

    Lauren"

You're right, asking her to delete her own post won't help much I don't think.  I'm a bit torn on this honestly, as we don't usually delete threads but at the same time I think many of us are guilty of now and then posting a rant about which we later have second thoughts.  I wonder how likely it is that her mother would go looking for her posts here?

I guess my only "worry" about deleting it is more backlash about missing threads, people expecting us to do it in future etc.

Heck, delete it...safety first, I don't know what she means by "very bad things" but whatever she meant she doesn't deserve them.  Most people are, I think, aware of the risks of posting such things in public places and either don't do so or are willing to handle the potential fallout if they do.  Hopefully that's a lesson Lauren has learned now.

I personally don't have an issue with folks asking for deletions for good reason OR that don't make a habit of it. I will send her a note about remembering the "public" aspect of the forum and delete it. Thanks for the input.

Deleted and PM sent basically saying this is a rare thing, be grateful and more careful...and you may have to step up and answer where it went if people get like a dog with a bone...LOL. That's paraphrased...PM was much more polite Wink
