Good thoughts for the girls

    Good thoughts for the girls

Susie and Nonnie got into a right slobberknocker tonight. Blood and punctures so far seem the worst but Susie got the worse of it and she is VERY sore and moving slowly. Nonnie doesn't seem too stressed so I hope the puppers stay on board.

I thnk they were at it for awhile since we let them run while we went to Walmart and came back to feed and the two were a bloody mess and started up again in the kitchen...*sigh*

the ONLY other time they've fought...both were preggers...I swear any other time they sleep ON each other no issue. Blah. I think Nonnie wants some space now so we're separating from here out, tho she seems fine still with Ellie.

Good vibes for Susie...I will be going over her and bathing her tomorrow am and if she still seems out of it will be taking her into the vet.

Oh no, Gina...this is really not what you needed right now.  I'm sending good thoughts for both girls and for those precious puppies, please let us know what happens.

So the morning brings, Nonnie pretty much her normal self..slight clear discharge which is normal in a pregnant bitch so that is good.

Susie is VERY stiff but as she's moving about in the yard I can see her getting better. I gave her a baby aspirin and that should help even more. I do now see the punctures in her front and back leg which is why she's so sore...looking at them they don't seem serious but I'll be shaving her this AM to look closer.

Probably just a lot of bruising...poor dear.

The joys of living with bitches....*sigh*

You know I have thought about having all those females since you posted existential Cleo.  Must admit as someone who has generally preferred the company of males all those female hormones sounds like a nightmare to me LOL

seriously I hope all is well

Oh poor Susie, being bruised and stiff is no fun at all.

Hope there are no surprises when you shave for a look-see....and I hope tensions settle down soon and there are no lasting grudges.

They are absolutely a different kettle of fish than the males. But on the other hand...you get PUPPIES lol. Goes a long way in making up for all the nonsense they put a body thru.

It's so unpredictable is the thing. Nonnie and Ellie BOTH went thru seasons together with Susie present and no one kvetched at anyone then...not a peep....one big happy hormonal family. Last pregnancy, ditto...no issue...the prior fight was on her first litter when BOTH were preggers.

    So again...go figure!

I just gave Susie her nice warm bath...if her sighs were any indication she liked it. I shaved her trouble spots, put some Betadine on the punctures but they're already sealed which kinda bothers me...hoping they don't abcess. Susie has some big ole coconut cracking thighs so hopefully that muscle tissue can resist the little gaps where blood and pus would collect.

Well today's update is good! Susie is completely sound this morning and was even soliciting some play from Buckwheat...which was hilarious. Nonnie still seems fine so I think we're in the clear as to problems for them...YAY!

Excellent news, thanks for the update Gina!

OMG!! Gina!  I'm so glad they are OK.

I always look at the front page topic in the Mods Den... not thinking there could be more active threads at times.  My bad!! I'm so glad they are all healed up.

Hormones are a horrible, horrible thing! lol  WOW!  SOrry I missed this!
