Bans/Suspensions

Bevolasvegas has been given a 3 day suspension, have emailed her.

Tssst has been permanently banned, emailed but it bounced so sent a PM while he was online, waiting until I saw him reading it.

Neztahoni has been permanently banned, so has telluride. Both have been emailed.

Sheppie - same IP as LC/tssst...was in the middle of doing all the bans when they turned up. Banned pending Jaime's review of that, since I did it right away because...

....the IP ban system appears not to be working. If it had, that Sheppie person would have been unable to register or post at all. I thought maybe I just hadn't gotten to that IP yet (there were a bunch I had to work through) but I checked and I'd done it already IP bans were decided on because all these people have proven they will just make duplicate accounts, am still waiting to hear what's going on with that now.

We need to be on our toes, I doubt the games are going to stop anytime soon....or at least until the IP ban feature works.

shoot I hope they can get that working ASAP! There's essentially no way to stop folks otherwise. Thanks for the update!

Uggh... what a bug to figure out in the heat of the moment. Pretty inconvenient.

OK, wasn't a bug - the option to do it at all was turned off in the config file, but you don't get any notice of that when you try to do it in the admin panel.

It's turned on now, and I have banned the address that LC, tssst and Sheppie all have in common (which I think is LC's work address, would explain why it's static) and the IP range of their home posting addresses. Ranges of Neztahoni and telluride too, which may mean snownose "innocently" complains she can't get online. The IP's of tell/nezt sit nicely inside snownose's IP range..... but are none are identical as far as I could find this morning, so snownose isn't banned, some of her assigned IP's likely are though. She might have to explain that if she wants to get back on.

Member "osk 76" has been banned too - LC/tssst/Sheppie work IP. Didn't catch it until after I'd banned the IP, which hopefully worked this time!

You have my permission to continue to ban those who keep popping up under the same IP creating new user names.
