ADMIN-Ixas re editing her post

Gee, maybe we could increase her suspension.....she wanted us to pass out 3-7 days....hmmmmmm

has this been addressed by admin? This is a big issue I feel and deserves attention.

Gina, I did speak with Jill about this last night.  I am trying to figure out how to word something, since Ixas was, in fact, following the "letter of the law"....the ink in her edit wasn't red....and we've only ever said not to delete red ink....

But she needs to go, I know that...you guys know that....she's toxic to the forum.  I just need to figure out the "right" way of doing this.  She and her little cronies are perfectly capable of causing a lot of trouble, so particularly for her a suspension needs to be airtight. 

Did we ever specifically say RED ink, or did we say moderators edits?  I'm thinking that we did say NO edits could be removed by the member?

I thought the rule was editing over mod edits not a specific color?

I am not sure why you all are being so careful with her, I want to udnerstand that tho. Is there some legal action she could take? I mean is the co. worried about a lawsuit or something?

I think it's time we honestly ask if the threat of a 'stern PM in your box' is actually scaring anybody? IMO...it's providing nice fodder for cut n pasted discussion for them elsewhere...and that's about it. Wouldn't suprise me at all if they have a bet going to see how long this forum will allow them to stay...not at all.

Editing out "red ink" placed in your post by a member of staff will result in a warning from an Admin, as will rudeness in arguing the matter.

That's what the guidelines say and I hold my hands up...it was an oversight on my part.

And no, I doubt anyone is worried about a lawsuit...but Ixas and her crowd will up the hellraising factor by 10, I bet.  I did discuss with Jill last night the fact that warnings seem to mean nothing to anyone anymore, and I think there will be a lot more suspensions around here.   

Gina, she's got a pretty decent sized group of supporters now. Even DPU is moderating at her forum.  And we all know what a PITA he can be.  I think there is justified concern about the havoc those supporters will wreck on the forum.

I fully understand your frustration.  I felt the same way with old Betsy Perkins who LIVED to torment me.  I don't know the answer regarding the legal issues, but I think damage control is probably top most in their minds.  This forum, before PC and Ixas at least, had become pretty influential in the business community, per Joel P, and we all know that BAD word of mouth can kill any business.  Just my thots tho......I don't know for sure.

Well, yeah, of course it matters.  And I might just be talking out my rear.....I'm just telling you what I think.  I could be all wet and totally off base.

I think it seriously matters what all of us think, what we feel, what we want. 

Unfortunately, when ALL of us want the same person gone,l I think that admin has to look closely at is this personal dislike or actual toxic behavior.  And since Kate doesn't get to make the decision on her own to give someone a vacation she DOES need to be careful to do it in such a way that the higher ups don't get annoyed with her.

Who is actually being punished here at this forum?

This is an honest question...if someone is a mature person capable, sometimes thru great struggle...of not taking bait over and over but that bait is still laid down daily without any lasting, meaningful repercussions by someone else not as mature...who is in fact being punished by being here?

By WE I did mean mods and admin, Gina, not members in general.

Clearly, the mature person is the one being punished.  But, equally clearly, Jaime is still the BIG dog here and as far as I know, her original guidelines are still being followed.  Think back a few months to have gawd awful it was when PC did things as she pleased, including bringing Ixas on board as a mod in the first place, despite the imput she got from us when she ASKED for it.  I get very frustrated with Jaimes "fair to a fault" stance, but I'd rather have that than someone who thinks she is the "goddess of idog".

I don't compare PC to Jaime...both have done things I don't agree with, but so has everyone I know. Such is life. Folks aren't here to make me happy...that's something I need to see to myself.

I completely dig that.
