The red ink doesn't necessarily bother me though I have only had a post deleted once. It was me and a few others who speak german quipping back and forth in an exchange of jocularity and it was deleted for possibly being distracting to the topic at hand and, who knows, maybe some others felt left out because they don't understand german. OTOH, I haven't been deleted for using Spanish or French. I need to try my smattering of Ethiopian, Russian (or Ukrainian), Japanese, Chinese (Mandarin).
I just lived with it and moved on. Other times I see comments that seem to be baiting or intended as personal slights not get edited. And that's okay, too. As I found it when it was deemed okay to call a person's posts "uppity", the game is what it is. Welcome to the jungle.
"You learn to live like an animal in the jungle where we play..." Sorry, I digress.
I also don't think opinions can be quashed simply because we don't like them or a poster happens to be prolific. Nor should they be. A person's post with its logic and meaning, or even sub-context, can and should be judged on its own merit. And usually is, whether we like it or not. Such is life.
