I know that espencer thinks CM walks on water. I'm sure that his methods work great with a 5 lb dustmop who has been shutdown by this type of training and doesn't do anything without express consent from his "leader". But, I don't care what the issue is, I don't care what the question is, he posts more darned links to CM videos than Carter has little pills. Just as every problem can't be solved with a one size fits all solution, the same is true of CM. I doubt that even HE claims that his methods are right for each and every dog and each and every problem.
The thread that's got me going is the great dane afraid of hardwood floors. Yep, the link is one of the first things mentioned.....and NOT to have the dog vet checked to make sure that he is structurally sound. Let's just force the dog to face his fears and overcome them. Doesn't matter if he maybe has HD or a broken foot or some other physical issue that causes the fear......MAKE him face his fears.
I've been there with Tyler so I've got some hands on experience with this particular fear and it just makes my blood boil to have this kind of force toted as the best and only way. MAYBE force will work, but maybe force will just make the fear worse. I know for a fact that it does with Tyler.
OK, done ranting. Here's my point. I'm thinking that all this video links being posted maybe needs to be limited? I have no clue how we would accomplish this but perhaps if espencer had to TALK about how to fix a problem instead of just posting a link to his hero we might have less problems?
