Moderator instructions sticky

From a post by Jaime. Feel free to update, I just wanted to to sticky the PM format for ease.

Here is the outline I've developed. Let me know how you feel and if you think it is something you're not interested in please let me know. Not everyone is cut out for this type of thing and we(Dog.com) want to continue in the same direction the forums have been on, except for the problem children and pot stirer's.
Forum guidelines/basic duties

Keep it simple and non personal

When editing a post delete the info needing to be removed and replace
with "Content removed" Sometimes that will be the entire post, sometimes it will just be select content. Use your best judgment on what is/is not acceptable content.
Send the poster a PM/e-mail with the following content;
"I have edited/removed your post due to your recent behavior. Continued behavior of this type will result in suspension from this forum for three days. If you are suspended from this forum three times your account will not be re-instated."
Signed you, moderator
Should the poster reply to you in an abusive manner please forward me
the reply to me at astdog@aol.com & jbates@dog.com and I will reiterate the measures you
have taken.
Items/animals for sale, sites for profit are not permitted. Remove the
content and notify the poster.
SPAM (multiple posts of the same content) are not permitted. Occasionally you will have people who do not understand that and want their message in several topics. Pick the one most related to the post and delete the rest. Notify the poster that spamming is against the forum rules and can result in suspension if the behavior continues.
I request you don't delete entire posts so we can track occurrences with
members should a pattern be evident.
Under NO circumstances do I expect or want you to be abused by any member of the forum. Should there be an issue please bring it to my attention immediately.
If you have any questions don't be afraid to ask. I'm sure we'll work on this as we go until we've covered everything.
If you feel you are being disrespected on the forum, contact me immediately. Upon accepting this moderating position you are a partner of dog/horse.com and thus no longer on the same level as a regular forum member. I feel I must add here that although you are not, it doesn't make you an authority
Should you feel once you are in this moderator position you are not comfortable please do not hesitate to contact me for suggestions/advice or just plain venting. If you find this is not what you expected it to be, let me know. This isn't for everyone, some days it isn't for me eitherJ
If I am unavailable please contact Joel- jspatterson@dog.com
