I see in the forum options that there is a drop down for "Theme". Does that mean eventually we will be able to pick the theme of the forum? In other words, we can choose from several looks and pick the one we like? I would LOVE that option as I find the forums very hard to read the way they are now.

The icons in front of each thread are kind of hard to differentiate between stickies, new threads, popular threads with new posts, etc. Can that be made simpler and easier to read/understand/differentiate?

Under forums with multiple sub-forums - I really liked on the old format that it would tell you up front which sub forum had new posts. I used that feature a lot and it was especially work friendly because I didn't have to do so many clicks to view what I wanted to see.

I miss seeing who the original poster was.

When I view my photos in my gallery, the photos run off the page/main table (this was a problem during testing but was fixed for the most part. It seems to be back)

I'm having a problem getting my avatar to work. I'm sure that there's a fix somewhere as I see others have avatars, but using the direct avatar upload thing doesn't work.

I love being able to post pics in the blog. However, I have to upload the pics to my gallery, then link them in my blog. Can you add a direct upload to the blog feature to make this less steps?

An avatar picture in place of the "Blogs" icon on the Blog main page would be awesome. That way we can go directly to those avatars we recognize instead of having to read the "fine print" and find out who posted. Plus it would give the blog main page more individual
flavor.

Looks like you already have spammers on the Blogs. Maybe make it so you have to have so many posts before creating a blog?

There's still issues with colors when you use the back button. I mentioned this in testing.

I miss the option to go directly to the end of a long thread so that you don't have to scroll through all the posts and pages to read the latest.

It would be great to be able to hide forums as well. There are so many forums and with the new color scheme, it's hard to browse quickly (like one would need to do while at work). If we could go into board settings and hide certain forum subjects, with the option to unhide them, that would make viewing the main forum page soooooo much easier. Especially for those of us that browse from work and need to get on and off the board quickly.

Hi Julie! When you hit the FORUMS at the top of the page, you'll see "shortcuts" on the right. Under that, there's a "personalize" option. That is how you hide forums. I think that's what you mean, right?

NA description is for PM imported from old site. Your new PM will show author's or recipient's name.

I selected LARGER type display in site options. It's easier to read but still very uncomfortable on the eyes. Something about the font, the leading and the vast amounts of white surrounding the type is making it painful to read.

A couple of AOL users report not being able to post to threads or PM, their posts show blank.

This new format is terrible!

* It is very difficult to navigate. You have to go back to the top of the page move to another forum, which makes it slower to move about the forum.

* There doesn’t seem to be any order in this forum. Posts seem to be lost in a “sea” of colors & words.

* Pop up notifications for pm’s are gone. I hate to seem rude, but I may or may not notice that I have a new pm. Realistically, it may be a day or two before I realize that I’ve got a new pm.

* My pm folder only contains pm’s that I have sent. All of the pm’s that I was saving for some reason or another are gone.

* This site moves very slowly. I think the appropriate term is “half the speed of smell.” It takes forever for the site to load.

* So far, I can not find out how to change my settings to invisible. There are days when I just want to read & post. I’m not interested in pm’ing back & forth. With an invisible option, this is possible, as nobody knows that you are logged on.

* The color scheme is very hard on the eyes. I’ve checked in twice since the “upgrade.” (if that’s what you want to call it) Both times, I have left this site because my head has started hurting. This morning’s headache was bad enough that I actually got nauseous.

I would like to see the forum that a post resides in when you go to the "posts you have not read" section.

If you see the title "timberwolf" it would be nice to know if this is a post about wildlife, food, or someone's dog without having to look at the post.

I agree about the color scheme. All those little puppers with the pink and red backgrounds going down the side make my eyes cross. I guess they'll go away when everyone gets their avatars back up. I also noticed that we don't have a choice of colors for typing anymore, or maybe I just haven't figured it out yet. That was kind of a fun feature to have.

Joyce, we DO have options for typing in colour and that one is actually better than on the old software. When you're posting, under the word "Message" you have a bunch of icons for text editing. To the right of the "font size" drop-down box is an artist's palette, click that and you can type in any colour you want.

yeah i agree with the site loading slower. it takes forever to open the page to post. also, personally i liked having the pop-up to type my post in, but i guess i can live without it.

the main issue i have right now is, that i don't get my email notifications anymore. i kinda liked those, cause i would know, when i got an answer on a thread i posted and so on. the feature is turned on in my settings, but it doesnt seem to be working :(

aya... i can see it is going to take a LONG time to get used to this..

Be careful what you wish for, re: post notification e-mails. This morning I signed on to find 76 e-mails in my in-box from this place because now you get an e-mail reply for EACH AND EVERY POST made to the thread. I much preferred ONE notification until I visited that thread for the update. I do not want all of this junk sitting in my in-box.

FWIW, you have to click that "post notifications off/on" at the top of the page.

IMO, we really, really, really, really need navigation options at the bottom of the page. And the main forum page just stinks. Nothing is user friendly. I'm trying to give it a chance and I just hate everything about this place now.

Ok, this is what I am talking about with color problems:

Notice the white box over text in the upper right corner? This happens quite often.
